Hats off to whoever was able to work with K Swiss to make this happen. Great, fun content that is likely of great appeal to their audience and many more. This is a sure hit. Great content that doesn’t feel like its just another ad - that’s how you do it.

Given an audience that won’t give too much thought to whether they might actually use a feature like this or not, I get why it makes sense to promote a feature like OnStar reading recent Facebook status updates. The did demonstrate the only use case I can ever seen this being useful for. But… seriously… is this something that anybody would care about or use more than once? I’m going to say no…

I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to see Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes featured in the commercial for the Microsoft’s latest mobile offering, Kin. Also - what the *eff is up with the stupid decision to demonstrate some mild sexting during the commercial? Also, see this piece on bands, advertising and selling out.
The new Nike commercial featuring Tiger Woods, narrated by his late father. Although I understand why they think they have some equity to come out sooner than say, Kobe, this feels a bit premature. That said, I think more than a few of us may be cheering for Tiger this weekend despite his transgressions (without forgetting them either, to be sure). The questions raised in this commercial are the same ones everyone is asking, making them very relevant and timely leading into the Masters. Certainly a provocative walking of the line.
