I have very little need for it, but at some point I’m going to work with someone to get my own ‘brand’ together. I like the idea of having a graphic identity and a place to start from when designing anything personal, digital or print. In an ideal scenario I’d love to work with Mark Weaver to do that, but something tells me I may need to lengthen my list.
Dribble describes itself as: ‘A show and tell for creatives. Designers, developers and other creatives share shots—small screenshots of the designs and applications they are working on.’
I describe it as: another reminder of how frustrating it is that I don’t have that kind of design talent. Really great to browse for inspiration, ideas and a look at some upcoming projects.
I quite dislike the look and feel of the new Gawker sites, but I’m still trying to understand what drove them to make these changes and end up with this result. Sean makes some interesting points here, and one that stuck out to me as I’ve been thinking about this for clients of late:
“Every page of the site is treated like every other page. They are embracing the idea that every page of your site is the landing page. Home pages are gone. They are optimizing every page to deliver value and drive a visitor to go deeper.”

I’ve always been a huge Michael Jordan fan. Take a look at this site by Nike, chronicling the ‘history of flight’ with Jumpman 23.
Still feels a bit messy, but is clearly aimed at driving more subscriptions, longer stays at the site through more related video views and some sharing/popularity functionality.
Khoi is the Director of design at nytimes.com and author of subtraction.com. These videos are worth a watch.
I love human centered design. So much so that I can’t believe there’s any other approach. A fun and interesting look at the functionality of bathrooms versus how they are actually used. HCT FTW.

I couldn’t find a larger version, but this is one of my favourite Google logo sketches to date. As seen on Google Malaysia for PI Day. via The Next Web
I love the look of this personal Annual Report by Swayspace. If you visit their site, be sure to take a look at their letterpress work. via Swayspace
An interesting project and toolkit our of MIT.
I love the Status Board at Panic. I believe it when they say they’ve seen some productivity benefits from having it. It displays:
